Arif N. Bhalwani

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Third Eye Capital - Sub-Advisor

Arif Bhalwani is currently the CEO of Third Eye Capital (TEC), an alternative credit provider which he co-founded in 2005. TEC provides capital and strategic guidance to asset-rich companies undergoing change or transition. Through its unique combination of tailored financing and value-added business expertise, TEC empowers talented management teams to seize opportunities and realize growth potential more quickly and effectively.

While traditional credit providers may avoid or lack the expertise to deal with uncertainty, distress, timing, complexity or other perceived risks, TEC has an extensive track record of identifying and helping unlock value where other investors refused or neglected to go. TEC has made more than $4.8 billion in investments across a diverse set of industries, including technology, sustainability, traditional and alternative energy, mining, construction services, transportation, and healthcare.

Before founding TEC, Arif led and co-founded the Canadian unit of an early-stage and specialty venture capital firm based in California. Before that, he was a major shareholder and director of a large, distressed Canadian construction contractor that he helped turnaround. In addition, he has founded, managed and sold companies in the retail, automotive and computer services industries.

Arif is a director of the Bhalwani Family Charitable Foundation, which was formed to invest in human potential and the improvement of quality of life for children, immigrants, and marginalized communities. Arif also serves as a director and advisor to several emerging growth companies and industry associations, including the Commercial Secured Finance Network. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, the Alternative Credit Council, and the Turnaround Management Association. Arif earned a Master of Business Administration from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University (formerly, Queen’s School of Business), completed post-graduate work at Harvard Business School, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Dev Bhangui

Principal, Third Eye Capital - Sub-Advisor

Dev is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, structuring and closing, investment monitoring and servicing, workouts, harvests, and exits.

Prior to Third Eye Capital, Dev was a Managing Partner at Royal Bank Capital Partners’ where he focused on private equity investments in telecom. Prior to that he was Vice President in Royal Bank’s global TMT credit risk management group. Dev has held leadership positions at several boutique investment firms, and within the consulting practice of Deloitte. Early in his career, Dev worked as a project manager for turnkey engineering contracts in overseas markets.

Dev holds a B. Eng from University of Bombay and an MBA from University of Saskatchewan. He is a Professional Engineer and a Certified Management Consultant.

Mark Horrox

Principal, Third Eye Capital - Sub-Advisor

Mark is responsible for deal origination, due diligence, structuring and closing, investment monitoring and servicing, workouts, harvests, and exits.

Previously Mark was a Vice President at Catalyst Capital Group focused on event driven and special situations investing. Prior to that, Mark worked for BlueCrest Capital Management as a senior Analyst in their Special Situations Fund, focusing on growth and turnaround financing.

Mark holds a Masters in Business Administration from the London Business School.
