James Fox, MBA

James is Co-CEO of Ninepoint Partners, a leading independent Canadian asset management company.  Prior to co-founding Ninepoint, James was the President of Sprott Asset Management.  James joined Sprott Asset Management as a founding employee in 2001, and as the Head of Business Development.  James became President in 2009, and helped build assets under management to ~$14B. In 2017, James co-led a management buyout of the Canadian arm of Sprott to start Ninepoint Partners.

Aside from his roles at Sprott and Ninepoint, James has been a founder or early investor in several successful companies.  Notably, James co-founded and was Executive Chairman of Canadian fintech PayBright Financial, which won Canada’s FinTech Company of the Year in 2019 (Canadian FinTech & AI Awards) and was successfully sold to Affirm Financial (Nasdaq: AFRM) in 2021.

 James has an MBA from University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and a Bachelor of Commercial Studies from University of Western Ontario.
